The Board of Directors of the Strathcona Highland Gathering Society are proud of the success of our event that took a year in the making. We are so happy that the two-day event provided a place and time for competition to be held, bragging rights established and for the community of Pipes, Drums, Dance and Heavy Games to come together in an environment of camaraderie and celebration.
In so doing, we believe we created the core of a cultural event for our entire community. The Marketplace, Art in the Park, Kid Zone, Community Stage, and the evening Ceilidh all made the weekend the great community experience.
The Board lit the flame, but it would not have been a success without a tremendous effort and commitment by our volunteers. The on-site coordinators, judges, operations volunteers all kept the flame bright by keeping the site clean and organized and supporting vendors and the public. A huge thank you to our volunteers.
Thank you volunteers! Thank you to our sponsors! Thank you to our vendors & food trucks! Thank you to local businesses! And thank you to the public who came by the thousands to watch and participate in the fun.
